I read this book as a child and loved working to solve the mystery. Then when I was older, I read it to my children and we stopped to work out the mystery along the way. My children loved it. This past week I started reading the book to my grandchildren and then I handed the book off to their parents for them to continue reading. Last night I got a call from a granddaughter saying that she had just figured out the key to the first clue. This book is an absolute family favorite!

Was lucky to finally remember this book's title. My children loved it, we read it in a week
In looking for books that could hold the interest of my sports-minded 10-year old son, I recalled great pleasure in reading Key to the Treasure when I was a kid. Though it took a little coaxing to get him started on the first chapter, I'm happy to say he quickly finished the book and declared it to be a great story. I knew he genuinely meant it when he asked me if I would consider getting him two more of the Peggy Parish books listed in the back flap of this book. That was great to hear, since, most days, reading is last on his list of priorities.
My parents bought this book for me from the Weekly Reader book club when I was ... 6? 7? It was my favorite book. This copy is for my 7-year-old grandson, and I can't wait to enjoy it with him. A story of siblings Liza, Bill, and Jed spending the summer with their grandparents and solving a hundred-year-old family mystery is a guaranteed winner with young readers.
Loved this book as a child! Greatly enjoyed it again as an adult!
Bought as a gift for a 4th grader. No complaints on the book from said 4th grader but they weren’t raving about it either. This is a 2018 clue me in preliminary title.
Key to the Treasure is at the top of the list of favorites for me. I loved this book when I was in school. I can't even tell you how many times I've read it. I read it to my children. They enjoyed it. I just ordered the paperback for my grandchildren because I didn't want to give up my hard copy. I have already read it to my grandchildren. They enjoyed it as well.
I was very interested when I found that there were other mysteries written by Peggy Parish. I ordered The Haunted House as well as Key to the Treasure. I'm looking forward to reading it.
My adult son read this book over and over and OVER in his youth.

Somewhere along the way, of course, it was discarded with other children's books.
